Paul Sturrock to decide who to keep at Southend United (Southend Echo)

SOUTHEND United manager Paul Sturrock will today be holding crunch meetings with his out-of-contract players.

Deschamps savours Cup win (Soccerway)

Marseille boss Didier Deschamps paid tribute to his players' fighting spirit after they became the first side to win the Coupe de la Ligue two years running.

Match-winner Cohen´s tribute to late father (Soccerway)

Bolton Wanderers midfielder Tamir Cohen paid an emotional tribute to his late father after scoring a late winner against Arsenal on Sunday.



Israel international Cohen came off the bench to make it 2-1 to Bolton in the 90th minute at the Reebok Stadium.

Sir Matt Busby's son 'disgusted' at United TV film (BBC)

The son of Manchester United legend Sir Matt Busby has criticised a television drama about the Munich air disaster.



The film United tells the story of the aftermath of the 1958 crash which claimed the lives of 23 people, including eight of the team's players.

Berwick Rangers sack player for Lennon bomb comments (BBC)

Berwick Rangers have sacked an amateur player after comments made on a social networking site about a parcel bomb sent to Celtic manager Neil Lennon.

The Third Division side confirmed that under-17 captain Kieran Bowell's contract had been "terminated with immediate effect".

Nigeria's Olubayo Adefemi dies in Greece car accident (BBC)

Nigeria international defender Olubayo Adefemi has died in a car accident, Greek police said on Monday.

The 25-year-old, who played for Skoda Xanthi, lost control of his car on the Egnatia motorway before the crash.

Adefemi was driving from Xanthi to Salonika in the Kavala region of northern Greece.

Former Blues player to stand trial (Echo)

Former Southend United striker Lee Barnard is to strand trial for an alleged assault.



Barnard, now a striker for Southampton, is accused of an assault outside a nightspot in the city he plays for.



It was said to have happened outside the White House bar in October last year, leaving a 27-year-old man with head injuries.

Quite simply the answer is yes!

 

My reason for stating what I believe is the obvious is purely down to one factor.... money!  Money in League Two is a very rare commodity.
