Im getting really fed up with english football and the press that surrounds it. The amount of flack Kenny is getting for the alarming drop in form at Liverpool is mounting and mirrors the start of the same flack AVB got at Chelsea. When will clubs, owners, the press etc, wake up and realize that its not always the managers fault. He can only pick the players in front of him, yes he can motivate, choose tactics and make in-game decisions, but he cannot take the blame for un-achieving players, players that cant be bothered, with lack of passion for the club and so on. In any other industry, as an employee, if you do not perform on a regular basis, you get the sack. Players now-adays are un-touchable, even the really poor players can be sold on and still earn a transfer fee and still earn 50k+ a week! How are they suffering!? Take Andy Carroll - he didnt want to leave newcastle, doesnt want to play for liverpool, plays poorly and looks disinterested, yet he still earns pot loads a week, probably will be sold on and earn another signing on fee and still earn shed loads at another club. I dont confess to know the answer as its all gone too far now, i hope king kenny doesnt take the fall for it, but i bet he will, players like adam, henderson, downing and carroll might be sold on but wont be attributed with any blame. This is of course not just a problem liverpool are suffering with, arsenal with arsharvin, chelsea with luiz, most of the villa players..... its a disease that will be hard to get rid of now that there is so much money in the game.

Totally agree with what you are saying. Too much player power these days. Look at Chelsea. Can not believe that AVB becomes a bad manager overnight, It was clear that something was wrong and the players were under performing. If a player does not want to play for the manager then what about playing for the fans ?. When John Terry was recently asked about player power at Chelsea , it was reported that he dismissed it and refered to the chairman as Roman. It has also been reported that in previous years Frank Lampard has allegedly holiday,ed on one of the chairmans yachts. What chance did AVB have. On a personal view at Luton , i still believe that the club were right to sack Gary Brabin. The results simply were not good enough and he was not good enough. Sadly it is always with the manager where the buck stops and generally when results are poor , he is fired. At Luton the managing director , Gary Sweet has openly criticised the players for their part in his dis-missal. In discussions that he had with the players and the manager it was thought that the players were 100% behind him. Unfortunatly this was not backed up by the performances on the pitch. They really need to take a look at themselves and ask could they have done more. Do they care that he has gone ? probably not. Do some of them care about Luton Town FC , probably not. Who ever the next manager may be i sincerely hope that he can establish quickly those who really want to play for Luton and those who don,t show them the door. Can not pretend to know a lot about the situation at Liverpool but looking from the outside it seems that Kenny has spent a lot of money , only to find that he and the club have been let down by these players underperforming. I would expect that if some of these players leave the club they will do at a massive financial loss to the club. Like you say the media are already speculating as if the mangers job is safe and had they not beaten Cardiff in the league cup final then he may be looking for a new job already. I believe that Liverpool started the season in 3 competitions and as it stands they may well end up winning two. Surely he deserves another season.
